The Natural Law Party is the Party of Peace.

Scientific basis of peace:  Peace is the individual and collective experience of centeredness of body, mind and spirit.  Most belief systems and world religions revere a deep connection that unifies energy, matter and all of creation.  Now scientists are verifying these qualities as the unified field of natural law.  The Natural Law Party recognizes the unified field as its basis of public policy and the foundation for international peace.

The experience of peace:  Beyond the stress and tension of everyday life is a peaceful inner self.  This deep value of life is a powerful inspiration that transcends and dissipates fear, anger and violence.  Each person influences the whole.  When groups of people access this underlying unity, the qualities of harmony, truth, tolerance, compassion, justice, liberty and peace radiate throughout society.  Then true peace among nations can be built in an environment of mutual respect, cooperation, honesty, understanding and trust.

Peace in public policy:  Components of a peaceful society are reflected in the guiding principles of the natural law. Less stress and greater harmony result in reduced international tension and reduced neighborhood violence and crime.   Truth in politics is realized by equal media access and ethical campaign practices with freedom from special interest groups.  Tolerance of religious, ethnic, racial, cultural and gender differences builds understanding among people and nations.  Compassion creates preventative health care coverage for all.  Justice provides crime and rehabilitation programs that are proven to be effective, a reduction of economic disparities, and equity and adequacy in education.  Liberty produces an effective democracy of, by, and for all people.

We can do this by:
  • providing stress management, anger management, and conflict resolution training for police officers and firefighters, prison inmates and personnel, all branches of the armed services, schools  and others as appropriate.
  • teaching tolerance, diversity and cultural appreciation to schools , groups, organizations,  corporations and government agencies.
  • ensuring the availability of quality health care (including preventative care, complementary approaches and proper nutrition), support groups for families and victims, and quality education on all levels.
  • creating The Department of Peace funded through a small percentage of the national defense budget, a cabinet position for the chair, peace personnel in all embassies, support for research techniques that explore nonviolent alternatives to war and terrorism with support for those that are shown to be effective, a system of measurement to track the economic savings directly associated with the peace program.
  • beginning the gradual, consistent reduction of all weaponry, honoring all treaties, removing  ineffective sanctions, supporting the United Nations, Peace Corps and international organizations such as UNICEF, and exporting technology rather than armaments
  • supporting programs that foster understanding, such as student exchange programs and The Olympics, programs that have long term beneficial results, providing food, medicine and other necessities where need exists and protecting  our environment by conserving fuel and encouraging interdependency of global resources.
  • serving as a model of a peaceful nation; maintaining a peaceful presence in all countries where we have or do business, and fostering sustainable growth and development.
